I have access to an HP8656A 0 - 999MHz signal Generator which has not been used for some time, it seems to power up all buttons function ok but there is no output on the front N Type or the BNC output on the rear panel. I have done the manual reset for Reverse Power Protection, still no output. On the rear there listed are some? HP - IB commands ? RO? RF OFF State, ? RI? RF ON State,?? RP? Reset Reverse Power Protection. Is it possible that the last user ha d used the RO command and turned off the output, after several months would this command still be valid? any means of checking if this has happened? if so can it turned on without having access to HP-IB?? or do I have a more fundamental problem?? I have spent a considerable amount of time on the internet but no solution, also been trying to find an HP user group but no luck. Any help/advise gratefully appreciated.
