Next item on the repair bench is a 89441 VSA (~ 1999)
?
The analyzer fails (internal) calibration loop (?) test:
?
[Calibration failure Check front panel cables]
?
The cables are all OK. The internal harness is OK.
Disconnecting the RF-unit, the analyzer behaves like an 89410 (-10 MHz)
where the calibration is OK. Following the service manual tests, I have been
able to perform some of the tests, apart from that the service manual points
to an [Attenuator] setting, which have no button or sub-menu item
on my IF unit (Typo ?) (btw: Updated to the last FW version available on Keysight web.
?
The analyzer displays an externally applied RF signal of known level correctly.
?
When initiating a calibration sequence, a number of relays gets
activated, after which the analyzer "sits" for a prolonged time.
In the end, the error message appears.
?
Sniffing the "OUT (To channel 1)"? BNC connector
of the RF/Bottom unit, there is a short RF burst at the very end
of the calibration sequence.
?
Now, if there is a need for alignment, a service/test disk is required
which is not available on the Keysight knowledge center.
I tried KO4BB but when klicking the manuals section for HP
the site returns to the previous menu.
?
The only disks found so far is the firmware. Nothing else.
?
Anyone that have a copy/image?
