Help with 2.4mm connector gaging

I need help determining what is the problem with my 2.4mm female connector gage.
?
I have both male and female, the male works correctly, but the female gage cannot be zeroed properly.
?
Is there anyone with a properly working gage that would be willing to test mu gage to determine if the gage or the master is at fault - I'd pay shipping both ways if you are willing to help.
?
Symptome are as follows:
1) Gage seems to properly measure a number of 2.4mm connectors - I can attach the connector and center the gage at "zero"
2) when using the master, the gage goes off scale to the + (right) side of the scale and cannot be brought back to zero
3) I do not see any obvious problems with the master (damage, dirt, etc.)
?
Results seem to suggest problem is with the master, but I'm at a bit of a loss to understand exactly how it could be that far off.? Is the mastr adjustable in some way??
?
Anyway if someone with properly operating 2.4mm gages would be willing to do a comparison test with my gage, I'd really appreciate it.
?
Cheers!
