I would like to offer another solution for dealing with the drift caused by the crystal controlled oscillators associated with the HP3586B's Product Detector. My method completely eliminates the drift problem and requires only a minor modification to pick off the 15,625 Hz I.F. signal within the 3586B, or any of the 3586 series SLM's. This method only requires a change in how you go about making absurdly accurate frequency measurements.
