I think that you will find that the user interface of the 8753 (for typical operation) is quite intuitive even though it will appear quite dated. However, things aren't so great if you want to add and manage your own 'user' cal kit.

There is some old Win98/2k/XP PC software called VNA Cal Manager that makes this stuff easier. It will probably work under Win10 or Win11 but I haven't tried it. You can also get screenshots and data from it using the KE5FX toolkit software and the KE5FX VNA software package.

You would need to obtain a USB to GPIB cable if you wanted to be able to use the VNA cal Manager or if you wanted to dump screenshots or data from the HP 8753B model as it doesn't have a floppy drive.
