¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi ? Oh my god. That just shows how little I am familiar with the old HP VNA. I assumed I could measure on say the R input. I used to use a HP4195, and as far as I remember we did it that way for G/P measurements (comparing R/A inputs) ? Anyway I hooked the HP8753D up to the test set, and now it works. You all saved me a lot of worry ? ? I still have the HP8753ES that shows an error. ? About the connection, I cannot see that. On the front there is only the 4 N connectors: ? https://www.electronicsdesign.dk/tmp/frontpanel.jpg ? On the back: ? ? I have an external testset for that one too, only 75ohms (HP86045B) ? Regards ? You don't say which model type you have, but assuming its the ES (as you say :"Seems the 8753ES has a known problem with YIG oscillator") then as Burt says you need the link between R Out and R In. This is on the lower right of the front panel - there are two SMA sockets labeled "R Channel" "In" and "Out". For normal operation these should be linked - otherwise you will get all sorts of error messages. Ex HP it's a small diameter coax (086 semi-rigid) and easily damaged. Any shortish SMA - SMA coax suitable for the maximum frequency of the 8753 can be used there to test. |
