I have two HP3400s on my bench at the moment, I have them both connected to my signal generator with a 50¦¸ termination
I removed the BNC from the sig gen and then reconnected it, the needle overshoots and comes back to the proper indication,
it may undershoot the proper indication, but if it does it's not even 1/2 a line. Both do the same. I even reduced the voltage to 1/2
and removed the 50¦¸ termination, it still did the same. So, only one peak, maybe two.
?OH wait, do you mean on initial warm up or when you connect a voltage.
Yes on initial warm up it does at lot of moving, I just shut both of them down or a few minutes and then restarted, yes, the bounced
5, 6 or 7 times depending on what you call a bounce :-).
