interesting to read that you are into electron microscopy too! This is clarly off-topic in this group, but maybe there are even more people here who share the same interest. So my first post is public before diverting it (into another group?).
What type of instrument are you repairing? I have a JEOL SEM-T330A in my lab that I recently acquired. Still a lot of things to do until I will dare to fire it up. It sat unused in a university lab for a couple of years, so all fluids including lubricants must be replaced. Especially the transformer oil does not impress me, it is degraded and likely will facilitate arcing inside the tank. Once running, the T330A should be a great instrument for the usual household applications... ;o)
I got acquainted to a guy in Brazil who also bought a T330a recently, so we are already two for this instrument type. Do you by chance know about a (groups.io-) group dealing with electron microscopy?
