That is not necessarily true. The numerical prefix refers to the Year and Week when that revision went into effect. It does not refer to when the first instrument of that revision was produced. It refers to when the Production Change Order was issued which would implement the Revision. This could be up to many weeks before any Instrument was built to this revision. Furthermore, if there were no more revisions to the product, the prefix could go on for years.

The first on was made in 1994 and the second one was made in 1996.
Add 60 to the most significant digits of the serial. I.E. 34 + 60 = 94 and 36 +50 =96.
The other answers are correct concerning any internal differences.
