Has anybody tried using the Chipquik bismuth-based solder that melts at 58C? The principle is that you add the that to the joint, it forms an alloy with a low melting point, and can be removed at a lower temperature and with less heat.
It is sold as an aid removing SMD chips, but is it effective for through hole components?
