No, it's not just you. To my knowledge, the owner of the site has closed it for good.

FYI: You might want to bookmark one of the following sites (or any other similar sight of your choosing, found by googling):

*
*

Querying "geronimo370.nl" on each results in:

*

"It's just you. geronimo370.nl is up.
Last updated: Mar 6, 2025, 8:17 PM (1 second ago)"

*

"Geronimo370.nl Server Status Check"

"Website Name: Geronimo370"
"URL Checked: geronimo370.nl"
"Response Time: 86.72 ms"

"Geronimo370.nl is UP and reachable by us."

Of course, each of the above only tells you whether THEY can reach the website in question on not, but not whether everyone else can. An underground cable might have been cut, or a router that your ISP uses to route traffic could have been misconfigured, etc. So the results are not absolute.

But the point is, such questions can be easily answered yourself rather than by sending a message to the group.

Hope that helps!

My own website (vm6pext) was hosted under geronimo370.nl. It was a small site providing starter knowledge for all the vintage systems running under Hercules. On January 26th, I received an e-mail from Gerard Wassink, the owner of the site. Here's a quote from the message:
?
"I am planning to stop with my geronimo370.nl website.
?It will be taken down somewhere in the next three to six months.
?Enclosed you will find a backup of your part, vm6pext."
?
So, even though the server is currently up and reachable, I doubt anyone will be able to access the website content in the future. That is certainly the case for vm6pext right now. Maybe there is a backup somewhere on some archive site?
?
Now, I agree that H390-MVS may not be the best place to inquire about geronimo370.nl. However many posts on geronimo370.nl concerned the Hercules emulator and the vintage systems that run under it (vm6pext had a tab about MVS). I assume it was known to some people in this community (at least Marco and me for that matter). Hence, asking about it in here is not so displaced to me.

I agree with you 100%, now that I know the background of the situation (which I did not know at the time I posted my response).

But generally speaking, it's not necessary to ask the group whether a given Hercules related web site is up or down when one can easily determine that themselves via the URLs I provided.

Unless it is a situation similar to the one you described of course!

In any case I apologize if I ruffled anyone's feathers out there. I was only trying to help. I get a lot of questions from a lot of people asking questions that they could have easily answered themselves via a few short minutes of googling instead of asking me, causing my view regarding such questions to be somewhat, uh, slanted.

My apologies.

I'll go away now. :)

First and foremost: Look in web.archive.org.

Rob,
?
Thanks for the link. As it turns out, vm6pext is there too, although in a rather primitive display. :-)
