You asked:
It's your choice.? These days it is pretty common to have one user catalog on each volume.? However, keep in mind that this is for production systems, with lots of batch

Re: How to catalog forgotten VSAM dataset
Hi Fernando,
If you didn't create a catalog, and I am sure you did not, then these datasets were cataloged either in the master catalog of that old TKx system, or in the TSO user catalog, depending

Re: How to catalog forgotten VSAM dataset
There should be a user catalog where they were created. Export creates a
backup with info to catalog in new catalog. Import reads the backup and
creates the catalog and

Hi Fernando!
I extracted the entire contents of the MVS-TK5.zip. I agree with your
argument that the tk5.cnf was modified. I tried some modifications in the
hope of opening the MVS console but it

Re: Trouble on H¨¦rcules MVS charge
Hello everyone!
I used grep in the Linux terminal to search for the sequence 327 not
followed by a zero in the conf directory. I found the following in tk5.cnf:
#
# local 3270 devices (VTAM)

Re: Trouble on H¨¦rcules MVS charge
Hi Ari,
The answer is 3270 terminals must be defined as device type 3270.
Change the 327 to 3270 and it should work.

Re: Trouble on H¨¦rcules MVS charge
It looks like the device definition is not correct...
6:05:51 HHC01462E 0:0202 devtype 327 not recognized
shouldnt that be devtype 3270? not 327? Maybe there is a missing 0 on the
end in your config

Re: Trouble on H¨¦rcules MVS charge
I'd look in the config to see if a device got changed from 3270 to 327.
That could mess up the whole ball of wax.

Re: Trouble on H¨¦rcules MVS charge
That log looks healthy. The last few lines show connection of a 3270
terminal, the same as I get.
I've attached 2 screenshots, before and after hitting <Clear> on the 3270
screen. The problem may be
