What was complaining? z/OS? Hercules? Both? What was the message number and text of the complaint, or complaints? Have you referred to the message manual(s)?

Hi Rob,

Then you should be able to make that 51.5 at that time.
:)

Review 51.5 includes enhancements to the previously undocumented HI COBOL.

log contains no data, this could very well be something I'm doing wrong, but I'm not sure what as I'm following the only installation instructions I can find.
First, you appear to use some turnkey flavor. Hence, a better place to ask is the Turnkey-MVS group.

Second, the binary from the turnkey install uses CPU instructions your particular CPU doesn't know about. The only way out is to recompile yourself. Search Google for Hercules Helper.

Re: MVS 3.8J Turnkey 5 Update-3 announced.

Quite a book! I will be digging into that. I've been working through Robert H. Johnson's 1989 MVS Concepts and Facilities book. From my explorations, I'd like to write something reasonably concise as a tutorial for the Digital Technology boy scout merit badge, as a guide for extra coursework for an AP high school class or for someone who is curious and wants to try their hand at mvs-tk5.

Introduction To The New Mainframe

is a redbook aimed at explaining the differences between PCs / Unix
computers with Mainframes / MVS / z/OS.

If you're available on Tuesdays between 1:00PM and 4PM EDT we could Zoom you in, but we're not always sitting at the table. Sometimes we're deep in a QSO on 10. I might try to create an EchoLink group were we can focus on this as well and I would love to get the group's thought as yours as to how we can expand interest in this. Maybe a Zoom group or something? Does one exist?
Right now I have tk4- running on a Akamai/Linode VPS and tk5 on my laptop. When it comes to this, I feel like I'm back in my novice days.
