Thanks for the suggestion. I'll add it to my list of things to look into/think about. As far as I can make out, the IMS SVC had not been invoked by the time the failures occurred, but you never know.
The last time that I installed an SVC for IMS was some time in the 1970s, on MVS and IMS V3 (maybe V4). All that was needed was for the SVC to be given its proper SVC name (IGC0025E) and put in SYS1.SVCLIB. Maybe IMS/360 needs more.
