The model DSCB must exist on the GDGs catalog volume. ? Unless you have defined a user catalog 每 you are defining into the master catalog ? And 每 I am SURE that the master catalog is NOT on your user volume KARAM1 ? So, again 每 You MUST create the model DSCB on the catalog volume that it is cataloged in 每 so in YOUR case 每 your model DSCB will need to define you model DSCB on the master catalog pack 每 ? Next you will ask 每 HOW do I find the master catalog pack - - I again, will ask that you go do a bit of research 每 ? Here is another link 每 to an entire catalog of REALLY REALLY GOOD materials 每 all for download 每 13 volumes on the ABCs of SYSTEMS PROGRAMMING
? In REAL LIFE 每 we almost always create a USER CATALOG - - and define an alias in the master to point to the user catalog ?OR even a SERIES of user catalogs 每 you see 每 the MASTER catalog is very important 每 and generally we do NOT allow USERS to catalog into the master catalog 每 if the master catalog has any corruption, this can lead to your system not being able to IPL correctly 每 so 每 BEST practices typically restrict the master catalog 每 some use RACF others use PW 每 or others simply go naked and just catalog into the master# ? ? ? I am trying to have you realize that using CATALOG services is a skill - - ? You might want to read some 每 even ask questions - - ? Please go READ the document I have linked above 每 to understand what some of these parameters DO for you ? Regards -J- ? Jeff Bassett (301) 424-3362 (office) (240) 388-7148 Cell ?
