"Permanent Error?"

Hi Folks,

Can anyone explain why ONE member of a group of 400-plus members can't send a reply to any post I make?

From: mailer-daemon@...
To: (group member)
This is an automatically generated delivery Status Notification.
Delivery to the following recipient/s failed permanently:? (my email @groups.io)?
Reason: Permanent Error"


No issues with her replying to other group members, no issues with emailing me directly (not going through groups.io), and apparently it's been happening since she joined the group.? Her email provider is Comcast, and the "Permanent Error" sent to her is coming from Comcast, but I have no way to know if the issue is with the address in groups.io being undeliverable? for some reason, or if her reply is failing some internal Comcast thing because of the address she's trying to send to.? Other members with Comcast not reporting any issues (though most of those are not really active anyway... maybe this is why?)

I don't do business with Comcast, so getting any kind of support from them is unlikely, and everything I've checked in my account settings seems fine.? Nobody else is having problems replying to my posts, Comcast or otherwise.

Just not sure what direction to head in with this!? Thanks for any suggestions!

Have a careful look at that permanent error email message body, scroll down and the actual reason should be displayed somewhere, many a time it's buried towards the end of the body text.

You should also check the Activity Log for the group.? Many times it will tell you why a message didn't get through.? Often it's because someone replied from an address different than they used for their account on your group.

I'm not quite sure why you're huh-ing especially since this thread is someone else's topic (Karl's), my reply is meant for him, and I doubt your name is also Karl, and additionally you really shouldn't hijack other peoples' threads.

Is it because you don't want to receive other messages except the ones for the thread you started, or is it that you didn't quite understand what I'm talking about?

If the former, you should change your subscription settings on our group to Follow Only, under the Advanced Preferences section, more info here:

/helpcenter/manual/membersmanual/subsettings/Sub_AdvancedPrefs.htm

If the latter, you may want to work a bit on your communication skills and be more clear so others can understand what you're referring to.

That's when you reply to an email that has nothing to do with you, asking about another topic, as you did here.? You set your subscription to receive all messages from this group, so you'll get them all, not just those related to the topic you started.
