I have Yahoo photos/files if they can't be transferred

I've read that Yahoo is sometimes not allowing photos/files etc. to be downloaded for the transfer to groups.io. I used PG Offline () to download basically all of the photos and files onto a hard disk here. If the fun91 group can't be transferred, I'd be glad to make a zip archive or whatever and upload it somewhere -- so that groups.io can (I hope!) automatically include those 1000 or so items from the old Yahoo group.

PG Offline is a bit quirky, but it basically did the job. A few photos didn't download completely, but I re-downloaded them with a web browser.

(I'll be away from home for a month starting December 8, and it'll be hard to send files then. If the group can't be transferred by then, I'd be glad to put the PG Offline archive somewhere.)

Thanks!

No one from GIO is here, this is a peer-to-peer group.? You'd need to contact [email protected] to talk to them.

Jerry,

I used PG Offline ... to download basically all of the photos and

Good plan.

If nothing else you can upload files to your Groups.io group by whole folder trees. For photos I think you're limited to a multi-selection in a single folder uploaded to a single Album.

If the fun91 group can't be transferred, I'd be glad to make a zip
archive or whatever and upload it somewhere -- so that groups.io can
(I hope!) automatically include those 1000 or so items from the old
Yahoo group.
As Duane said, only support could help you with that. And I wouldn't expect much from support until after the Yahoo situation calms down.

For a Y!Group's Conversations you're better off with an mbox format file than a PG Offline database or other form of export. Fortunately the Y!Groups getmydata function does return Conversations in mbox format. I'd recommend requesting that download before the deadline, even if you've already made an archive with PG Offline.

Thanks, Shal. I tried that getmydata function after Yahoo sent email about it. It waited a day or two, then said "Your download request has been completed, but no data of this type is available in your account." I just tried it again and got the same message. At least I have the data from PG Offline! If GIO doesn't get the data from Yahoo, since I paid the $220, I hope they'll work with me in January to upload my PG Offline archive (so I don't have to do it by hand)...

I just found out that I can upload multiple photos at once from my Windows PC by browsing to an album (folder), then clicking on the photos and clicking the upload button. (I thought that I had to upload the photos one-by-one.) This should make it pretty easy (with enough spare time) to gradually add photos to the GIO group if they can't be transferred automatically from Yahoo.
