What I would like to know is this
Bob, you need to give more details.
At what point were you stymied? Are you trying to start a brand new group or transfer an existing group from Yahoo or GoogleGroups? What error message do you receive? Is it because the name isn't unique? Perhaps you actually successfully created a group, and received an email which landed in your junk mail, and then you can't use that name again? Details will help people help you! Cheers, Frances |

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi Bob,
I recently created a new site for myself as a testbed and it was surprisingly quick and simple.
Can you perhaps tell what you did please? The nitty gritty of your actions?
OK,
Tony

Bob,
... then not knowing I went into messages to send a message as a testI think the only problem is that the weekend got in the way. Because some spammers were abusing Groups.io the ability to have a new group show up in the group directory now requires approval by Groups.io. I didn't know, but it is possible, that the ability to post messages is also held until the new group is approved. If this is the case, it now being Monday your problem may resolve itself. The other thing to watch for is that your test message may be held awaiting approval from a group moderator (you). Go to the group's Settings page and in the Spam Control set of options, see if your group has checked either "Moderated" or "New Users Moderated". If either of those are checked they would apply to your own messages even though you are the group owner. The button to open the Settings page is in the Admin group - click on Admin to open that up to show you the group administrative controls. In the Admin group is also the Pending page - where you'll likely find your test message awaiting your approval. Shal |
