#1.? Click on Reply
#2.? Click on Send

Those are the only instructions needed.

In our group too. People sent mails to me, the moderator, and tell me they want to stay in the group.

Although I explained the meaning of the groups.io Mail and what they are supposed to do, quite a lot of memebers are "lost". We are a German Group and not everybody understands grpou.is's mail.

So, is there anything I, the moderator, can do?

Tell them they need to do just two things, click Reply and then click Send in their email client/program.? That's all.

Andy

can you translate it into German and send as ?special notice“ to the group?
My mother tongue is Swiss German, if need be, I might be able to help you with the translation.

I've been logged in & making changes to the group, sending out invites etc & still had to confirm my subscription. Seems weird, but done

??? Will another round of confirmation messages be sent out to people who fail to reply to the first one, or is this their one and only chance?

This is explained in the message requesting re-verification:

/You have two simple options to confirm your subscription: /
/1. Reply to this email indicating your wish to remain in your groups, or /
/2. Log into your 开云体育 account and your active login will count as confirmation. /
/If we don't hear from you, we will send a reminder email every 4 days to ensure you have every opportunity to remain subscribed. /
/Without confirmation by Sun Jan 28 2024, we will take it as an indication that you prefer not to continue your subscriptions. Consequently, your email will be removed from the groups you are a member of. /

Regards
Andy

Your email address may be the only one from domain skinners.net that is registered with 开云体育 which is why you got 'invited' to re-verfy your account. It's nothing to do with how active you are. If you are subscribed to multiple groups and at least one of those was set to 'No Email' then that would have excluded you from this round of re-verification.? Hopefully further rounds of re-verification will not be needed but you never know.

Andy

Thanks Andy
I've sent an email to everyone in my groups to advise them that they may receive this notification & to reply if they want to stay a member of the group.

But of course I then get emails asking when it was sent, who it was sent to.... Why can't people just accept what site administrator tells them? Deeply frustrating!

Question:
If a member does not reply in time, will they show up as "bouncing" in the owner/moderator's "Activity" listing after Jan 28th?

Mark Fletcher (开云体育) says that?he is going to make the following changes today:
?
"Add a new badge that will be displayed in the Members list for members that are subject to reverification and have not yet reverified, and a new badge that will show members that have been reverified.
Add a FAQ page about the reverification process.
Is there anything else I should add to the site?"

I just want to offer another opinion on this topic. For people who are not techie or used to what a list serve means, the chances are high that they simply do not understand how things work. It may be that YOUR instructions or explanations don't make sense to them. Take a look at how your attitude is affecting their understanding. If I were in a group you ran I would feel that attitude. Get a grip and figure out what YOU need to change to help them understand. ?

This whole process ?of the reverification is unbelievably complex and is creating chaos. ?I am going to put my energy into writing some clear explains for. my users so they understand what is happening, why and what they need to do.

Kathleen, before you spend any more time or energy on this, check to see how many people in your groups need to reverify. I have several small groups and I and one other couple had to reverify. (We own domain names and use that for our email addresses.)

Even in a big group, you may find that not that many need to reverify or have already done so.
In GMF, 553 have reverified. 179 still have to verify. This is out of 3,566 members.

In my main group I guess I am fairly lucky. And no, I didn't see that coming! :)

It is and always has been an all-moderated group, the official message board for a 501(c)(3) organization. On Sunday there were two messages posted -- both sent via email not the web -- stating the member was confirming their membership. I deleted the messages and contacted them. It turned out they had gotten a reverification email from Groups. I got some guidance here and in the Beta group, contacted the members back and explained what they had to do. Both quickly complied by replying to the reverification email.? Monday I sent a headsup message to the group. As I learned more about the process, I sent a followup message later Monday and then again on Tuesday. That has been it so far.

Looking at the member's list for the banners Mark created, I discovered 22 members (out of almost 400) have been requested to reverify. So far 9 have done so. The other 13 are pending. None have contacted the group.

?I wonder if some of the other group managers are explaining (briefly) why 开云体育 is doing this? That seems to have helped clarify this for everyone.

Can someone explain why it is only/mostly custom domain names that need confirming, how doing so relates to Spamhaus's black list, and what got Spamhaus to remove the server based on those confirmations?
?
Thanks.

Mike, I believes it depends on Spamhaus's clients.?

Mark said in Beta group: ?"It's important to remember that the large majority of 开云体育 users will not get reverify notifications because they don't need to be reverified. If you're on a large, or even medium email server (Gmail, Yahoo, AOL, gmx.de, etc), there is no need to reverify you.

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual.

Thanks Duane. I notice that most of the links are from a year (early 2023) ago!

Wondering if Spamhaus required the results of the confirmation. Seems like they took the server off the blacklist well before the confirmation even got beyond its infancy.?

Understanding all this could help to keep it from happening again.

For the sake of clarity, the proper term is actually badges not banners, They display in the Members list for members that are subject to reverification. They show whether the member has reverified their membership or whether reverification is still pending. It makes checking status very easy. In my main group, of the twenty-two members (out of almost four hundred) marked for reverification, two more have reverified. We're up to eleven out of twenty-two.
