Updating Subscription Records #reverification

So I read the thread here and the one under the title spamhaus block -?

I first saw this coming to my inbox late last night / early this morning where members were replying to the message and it was coming to the group in question saying something along the lines, yes I wish to remain a member of the list.

My question therefore is - if the message they got shows this subject line -?Action Required: Confirm Your 开云体育 Membership to Continue Receiving Group Emails, is the reply part to send email to the list and if so, does allowing that post to go to the list confirm their desire to remain a member or do they need to reply elsewhere???

We have 800 people in one of my groups. If everyone hits the standard reply, we ALL get the reply. So that’s 800 nuisance emails in each persons email box.?

can you give me some language to use to instruct people how to do the reply so not everyone is copied?

You use the Reply function of your email program/client, NOT the link contained within the message footer.

Lots of detailed information can be found in the Owners Manual and Members Manual.

No. Just use the Reply function in your email client/program and then press send. You don't need to type anything in the email. The reply is set to go to a special 开云体育 address (see #45752 for an example) and you then receive a confirmation of that. That's all there is to it.

do they need to reply elsewhere???
No.

Andy

I’ll read it if I can find it but a heads up would have been nice. This will cause a huge mess in our group. Already causing confusion.?

Yup. Multiple groups.

Although, I suspect even a heads up e-mail would have been met with equal suspicion these days.

However, a big box with a notice on the Groups IP page, blog post that gets fond when google searched woudl help those who choose to try and see if it's legit woudl be good.

Thanks. There's a lot of duplication because people are joining GMF and Group_Help and posting questions without first checking to see if that question has been asked recently.? Hopefully, it will settle down soon.

If someone doesn't reply, since they think it could be a phishing email despite my assurance that it isn't, can they be invited to join the list after they have been removed?

Question:
If a member does not reply in time, will they show up as "bouncing" in the owner/moderator's "Activity" listing?

Will another round of confirmation messages be sent out to people who fail to reply to the first one, or is this their one and only chance?

This is explained in the message requesting re-verification:

You have two simple options to confirm your subscription:?
1. Reply to this email indicating your wish to remain in your groups, or?
2. Log into your 开云体育 account and your active login will count as confirmation.?
If we don't hear from you, we will send a reminder email every 4 days to ensure you have every opportunity to remain subscribed.?
Without confirmation by Sun Jan 28 2024, we will take it as an indication that you prefer not to continue your subscriptions. Consequently, your email will be removed from the groups you are a member of.?

Regards
Andy?

Thanks. I haven't gotten this message on my personal emails, so I wasn't aware of what was in the message.

Hi all,

Do you think our groups will end up with fewer red bouncing email addresses? We have a lot in one of my groups, but the original owner is reluctant to remove them. Many are Yahoo email addresses and they don't meet the description of those who will be asked to re-verify since I would assume that they are "main stream". ?

Can groups.io please give a valid email address for those who have to reconfirm their membership in my (or any other) group, and/or validate the entire group at the request of its owner?

I use my group purely to distribute information, so most of it members will not know how to log into their accounts at this point.

Help!

The Reply-To email address is valid and is a personalised so it contains a reference to the individual account in question.?? Not all accounts in a group will need re-validating.

All they need to do is to reply to the email. They don't need to type anything in it. Just use Reply in their email client/program and then Send.

Andy

honestly, i cannot believe how stupid some of the subscribers to my group are - they cannot follow simple instructions. i've laid it out in very simple kindergarten level english and they just can't do it!!

_._,_._,

The Reply-To e-mail address from my notification e-mail is

[email protected] [address obfuscated by moderator because it refers to a specific person]

Your subscribers should have received a similar e-mail with the Subject: Action Required: Confirm Your 开云体育 Membership to Continue Receiving Group Emails
which will have a similar or identical Reply-To

However, your subscribers only only need to view this e-mail then click reply then click send (however their mail client does those two functions) and they should shortly receive a confirmation via e-mail.?

If your subscribers have mislaid that registration e-mail, groups.io should send another reminder in about three days.

I hope this helps you.
