If you add photos to a members album does the group announce it toNo automatic announcement is made, to mods or to members. There is a goal of improving the notification system, but that wouldn't be the same as posting an announcement to the group. This would more likely be a mods/member's choice to be notified of certain events. I know yahoo does this.Do you mean the nightly "Updates in Your Groups" message? Not sure how other members will know to look at new photos there?You can always just post a message. Shal |

I think moderators need to be notified if all members are allowed to post photos, but readers ignore the automatic yahoo announcements. Better if someone posts to describe or give reasons for the photos being posted. People are more likely to look at them.

Yes yahoo would send a notice the next day after anyone put photos in.That's the "Updates in your Groups" email I mentioned. Hopefully the planned notification overhaul in Groups.io will provide superior functionality to that. Choice of which events to include, and choice of web, email and/or text notification, and for email choice of immediate notification versus daily summary should all be in the member's notification options. At least, that's what I'm hoping for... ;-) Shal |

We need to know when a new photo goes in since we can’t sort to getThere's a wishlist item for a feature like Y!Groups' Photostream. That gives you a single list of all photos in chronological order. Perhaps more to the point, there's a longstanding request for a "notifications overhaul". The intent behind that is to give you a place online (with optional email) to look for changes in your group. Such as new photos added. And of course, a request to be able to moderate uploads to features like Photos and Files independent of message moderation. Shal |
