That's the "Updates in your Groups" email I mentioned.
Hopefully the planned notification overhaul in Groups.io will provide superior functionality to that. Choice of which events to include, and choice of web, email and/or text notification, and for email choice of immediate notification versus daily summary should all be in the member's notification options.
