Can moderators reduce joined their own moderator settings?

I have a similar problem.
I joined a group that has taken a decidedly negative turn and I want to quit but I was made a moderator.
When I try to remove myself I get the message that I am the sole owner.
Another member is listed as the owner, I'm listed as a moderator.

What are my options?

Have you tried contacting the group owner for help? He could remove
you from the group. You could also set yourself to no-mail and just
ignore the group.

Other than those two options maybe mention it as a bug in Beta or
contact customer support.

Bill,

Can moderators reduce joined their own moderator settings?
Presumably only if they were given the Permission to "Set Moderator Privileges".

When I try to remove myself I get the message that I am the sole
owner. Another member is listed as the owner, I'm listed as a
moderator.
That's pretty odd.

My first reaction would be to switch to the Moderator view and possibly use Ctrl+F5 refresh to ensure I wasn't seeing a stale cache of the Members list.

If that doesn't resolve the issue, I'd send a note to [email protected] explaining the problem, including a screenshot of the (relevant part) of the Moderators list. I'd use support rather than beta so that you needn't white-out the full email addresses.

I figured it out and it is because I wasn't paying close enough attention.
I was listed as the Owner, because I Owned a sub-group.
That was my first mistake.
Then I didn't type in "I understand" when I (attempted) to delete the sub-group.
I then tried to quit the group again and still got the message that I am the sole owner
It was at this point I asked the question.
I then went back and tried again and again until I figured it out.
I needed to read the delete group pop-up box completely and type in "I understand", deleting the sub-group.
I was then able to leave the group.
I had to wait until the question was approved to tell how my my sad story ended.
My apologies.
