Hi,
yes...my mail started bouncing Friday morning. I have a time warner/spectrum mail account. I have spent at least two hours on the phone with them. Today I spoke with their security dept. I¡¯m told they have an IO groups team and will look into it. They also suggested I try to find out if anyone else on IO is not getting mail.

Wolfie -- Your Email Delivery History shows multiple, recent bounces with the following error:

554 dnvrco-cmimta09 esmtp ESMTP server not available AUP#I-1000

So the problem appears to be with your own mail server at twc.com. Whether you actually receive this response is anyone's guess.

Hope this helps,
Bruce

Wolfie, Joan,

From what Bruce identified as the bounce response I would guess that many TWC / roadrunner customers are having this problem. So Joan's problem is likely not a coincidence.

This TWC help forum response from last year seems relevant, you should probably use the contact info they posted:

Give them the full bounce reply text:
554 dnvrco-cmimta09 esmtp ESMTP server not available AUP#I-1000

And also tell them that Groups.io's sending server address is 66.175.222.12

Thank you both for answering.? I contacted Spectrum today and the assured me that everything is fine on their end, Im getting email from groups on Yahoo and Google just fine.? I emailed IO support again,? sent them a copy of the bounced mssgs and asked them why this started just yesterday and what we can do to prevent it in the future.? Im switched my account from my business email address, so at least now im getting the emails.? If this doesn¡¯t resolve, I ll need to leave IO.

Nope, it's Spectrum doing the bouncing, as noted in the bounce response.? You need to keep after them until they fix it.

Wolfie, don¡¯t totally accept what Spectrum said. This same thing happened last year, and it was Spectrum¡¯s fault. It¡¯s their servers that are causing our emails to bounce back to IO. They were able to fix it before. I¡¯m still waiting to hear from them. They said it would be 24 hours.

Wolfie,

I emailed IO support again, sent them a copy of the bounced mssgs and
asked them why this started just yesterday and what we can do to
prevent it in the future.
Groups.io support can't really do anything about it if Spectrum refuses to accept messages sent through Groups.io's server. At best Groups.io could contact Spectrum, but Groups.io isn't their customer, you are, so your complaint should carry more weight with Spectrum.

Im switched my account from my business email address, so at least now
im getting the emails.
That's the other way to resolve the issue of course: pick a service that is willing to deliver messages from Groups.io.

If this doesn¡¯t resolve, I ll need to leave IO.
If you mean use a different list service for your group, that's a much bigger step in that it affects all of your group members. The trade-offs there depend on what features of Groups.io you and your members use.

Even if it is only the mailing list aspect, Groups.io is more pro-active about ensuring deliverability to group members than most list services. You'll probably see that in a response from [email protected] to your email.

This is evidenced also by the tools at your disposal to discover which members are having delivery issues, and exactly what the response of their email service is. The means by which Bruce examined your issue.

I'd like to point out that, while Bruce did look up the bounce info, members can do it for themselves. (much better tools here than YGroups :))

That's what I did before coming here.? Go to a group you are a member of, click on Subscription, then click on Email Delivery... and it will show your bounces (if any :))

I have tons of bounces on my SciFi group and other groups I belong to... I was coming here to see if there was any other info on hand that might be of use... Thanks, Shal, for the?TWC help forum link with?Contact info (in the TWC forum response provided by James_M ) and?Groups.io's sending server address: 66.175.222.12
?
Hopefully this will be cleared up soon :)

Sorry, a less circuitous method of checking your own bounces is... Go Here:?/account?page=bounces

Just an FYI...apparently Spectrum heard us and has finally fixed the problem. My groups IO mail is not bouncing any more.?
Joan?

Yup.

There were about a dozen "is no longer bouncing" entries in GMF's activity log this afternoon. Mostly RoadRunner addresses, one TWC and one telus.net.
