Add invitees to event

Hello, I have an existing event (monthly meeting) and I'd like to invite additional people, but I can't figure out how to do it. Can anyone help?

To resend the invitation to the whole group, the best way is to find and open the #cal-invite message (in the message archive) for editing, then click "Save and Send to Group."?
?
If you don't have the original #cal-invite message (e.g.: maybe you never sent one in the first place), you can similarly open the event itself for editing and resend from the calendar ("update group"). This approach is less desirable, because the new notification will say the event has been "updated" despite the fact that you haven't changed anything.
?
There is no convenient way to send a #cal-invite to an individual. You can email them from the Member List, but will have to insert the desired info via cut-and-paste. In the unlikely event that you still have the #cal-invite message saved in your email client, you could also forward that. If you do, be sure to remove the footer links first, because the recipient can use them to do unwelcome things (e.g. unsubscribe you).

Hope this helps,

A lot of it depends on your facts and circumstances.

?

I suspect you are looking for a certain type person to join your meetings and not just anyone.

?

So, you need to think about where those people are and how you can contact them while somehow letting anyone else they may not be allowed or wanted to join.

?

Can others that join your meetings suggest names of others and how to contact them. Does your group have members in other groups that might have people you wish to attend and if so will they mention? to others either individually or get up an announce your group meeting?

?

If you are looking for business people you might consider buying a Chamber of Commerce mailing list and trying to sort through those you get labels for as to who you contact. But depending on the actual person your mailing may not reach your desired person.

?

Needless to say? word of mouth is the best advertising for anything.

?

Without knowing more about the type of person you wish to? contact and the purpose of the group it is difficult for anyone to focus in on what may be best for your situation.

?

When I first started a listserve group back in August 1999 I got off to a bumpy start but kept on going and I did several things to make the group beneficial for those that were members. That encouraged others to suggest their professional acquaintances to join and now I have several groups and a few thousand members while limiting who may join in most of the groups.

?

If somehow you can add more and more value to your meetings those attending will tell others without having you to ask them to do so.

Thank you Bruce, your answer was very helpful!

I assumed there was a standard way of doing it and I was just missing it. I did end up forwarding a clipped email. I'm new to groups and still learning my way around.

thanks again, Cassandra
