Nah, they should just set their autoresponder to kick in when there's a *private* message - or switch to digest/nomail for the holidays I'm not sure whether a solution on groups.io's end would even be

That's the Groups.io part, not the AOL part that was referred to.? I suspect the difference may be whether the group is sent to Reply to Group or Reply to Sender, but it may be that AOL hasn't
