Where do I go to suggest change?

PACC Admin

Hi,

I know this is a group of volunteers and not the folks to manage the Groups.IO software, but where do I go to make a suggestion?

thanks

Inline (embedded) images via web interface #images

PACC Admin

HI,

When I create or reply to a topic by sending an email and I have inline (embedded) images in the email I send, those images show up inline on the Web interface as well as in the emails members receive which is exactly how it should be.??

My question is how do i insert an inline graphic when creating a new topic or replying to an old one using the Web Interface?

thanks -- Dan

Generally agree, but the mechanism to do so is unclear. Note also the recent thread in beta from a group owner who doesn't want his members enrolled in the Updates group, because it amounts to over-communicating system issues.

Unfortunately, making everybody happy does not seem to be an achievable goal.

Emails. I think it's probably a mute of topic tester than hashtag, but I can't tell. If I could see it in the activity log...

All the more reason to keep the number of people doing any given job in check.

If reviewing and approving messages/users is something that you don't do, simply turn off that notification in your Subscription settings ("Email when there are messages needing approval", "Email when there are members needing approval", etc.).

Even then, the recipient could set up an email filter. You're trying to control something that is not in your control anyway.

I agree the pictures of cats should be abandoned in favor of something more business-appropriate.

Is he reading messages online? Muting affects email delivery only.

Duane,

?

What a regional time perspective that would be. My group is world-wide. 5am PST is 8am EST is 1pm in Europe.

?

I don¡¯t do anything group-posting-wise online and very few of my members do. If they did they¡¯d be on FB. I had two of my late night Emails just disappear last night and now I guess I understand why. Luckily they were important-ish so this morning when I didn¡¯t see them I re-posted. Many of my members would be nonplussed for that to happen and be asking me ¡°How Cum??¡±.

IO is much more stable than YahooGroups and I thought he was much more sensitive to his customers than YahooGroups but his going on vacation without a clear ¡°I¡¯ll be back by this date and caught up to the backlog my vacation created by this date¡± message and now scheduled maintenance without informing at least all the owners says he¡¯s not as sensitive as I thought. I¡¯ll just need to adjust my expectations of him. Both of these events were basic A-B-C management skills. But then he appears to be a very talented software programmer, not a manager. Being a sole-ownership I hope that doesn¡¯t bite me in the longer term.

I wouldn't want an email about it.? I do everything online and was well aware of this downtime.? I don't want more unnecessary email, so I'd want a way to disable it.

I suspect that part of it is the fact that it happened at 5 am PDT, so there may not have been an expectation that many people would notice.

I don't see why it would make much difference.? It could also cause problems for some groups if it doesn't bounce.

Hi
as the owner of several user groups, that I maintain using email, is is quite annoying
to get bounced email just because a user or message was already approved.
When you have multiple owners or admins, it is quite possible that one of

How about just accepting the email and killing it instead of bouncing it.

Yes, that was my hope, too!

I take your other point but would still like to be able to do it, anyway!? This is a very small group set up for discussion of a specific subject matter and, therefore, allowing people to opt out of individual topics is inappropriate to the business of the group.

?

It¡¯s a shame that this isn¡¯t a configurable item at list owner level.

To my knowledge this is not possible; but if you don't tell anyone what this feature means, few people will bother to look into it on their own initiative.

Hi, Frances

Thanks for the tip on nomail - I spotted that one! ?

It was being able to stop individual's opting out of a thread that I was wanting to do rather than muting it for all.

Thanks
Richard

Richard,

Group members only mute receipt in their own mailbox. It does not affect delivery to other members nor does it stop the appearance of the topic or posts on the group site. It allows members to manage the flow of email to their inbox.

I do suggest you disallow ¡°no mail¡± as an option, if you haven¡¯t already done so. I have also set groups I started to the options that send only the first email in a thread and then allow members to opt into (¡°follow¡±) a topic.
