I have a member who is moderated. Email delivery is individual. When she replies to a topic and sends, this is what I receive as a message:

I've never seen this before.

Thoughts appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Images lost in draft copy #images #drafts

What Ken notes is something a lot of groups.io users (and users of mobile phones) apparently don't understand. If an image is imbedded in a message, it will be compressed. The only way to send an image and be certain it's not going to be altered by compression, is to make the file a separate attachment. It also amazes me how many mobile phone users don't understand this.

Re: Owner can¡¯t reply

Thanks everyone. It is working the way I need although I am not sure why. Good enough for now.?

Re: Images lost in draft copy #images #drafts

I will affirm that the post image icon works best of all. However groups.io admins can set resolution limits on images, and critical detail may be lost. A tight crop & image resizing may be the answer or to link to a photo sharing website of some sort can be best.

?
I recall an old warning from Mark that the App does not handle pasting an image very well. ? I have had that issue on both platforms but defo using the app. ?Best to use the insert image icon. ?I know that it is PITA.?

Re: Owner can¡¯t reply

I¡¯ve also had a person getting confused because multiple browsers were involved, and the different browsers had different logins. He was using a third browser on his phone with yet another browser.
?
The mobile apps are pretty danged good. Groups.io is happiest with but a single login across many devices & browsers. The group is selected via a drop-down.
?
cheers,
Dave

The only way I can think of that this could possibly happen is if you've managed to log yourself in with different email addresses on the two devices.
?
From your web browser, pull down the menu at upper right that shows your name (see screenshot). The email address you're logged in under is displayed. Make sure you're logged in using that same email address on your phone. If not, click the "log out" link (on your phone) and try again.

Did you see the email from Bruce April 7 - /g/GroupManagersForum/message/49135
?
Two possibilities:
-- Your account is bouncing and you haven't unbounced it yet.
-- You're in a subgroup of a group you own but haven't made yourself a member [of the subgroup] yet.

Re: Invitations sent

we have probably sent four or five invitations in the last week. They were entered individually,. The admin issuing the invitation did not see the first one show up in ¡°sent invitations¡± and so entered it a second time. The person invited accepted one of the invites.
there is still no record I can find in ¡°sent invitations ¡°. And it still sorts funny- not always in date order, or in alphabetical order, depending on the column I sort.

How many invitations have you sent recently? Did you make more than 20 at one time? Did you type them in or did you send them as a plain text file?
?
Note that invites expire but can be re-sent.
?
Has the one that shows up in Activity accepted the invitation? Are they in the Admin, Members list?

Re: Invitations sent

I have sorted by date and by name and cannot find an entry. And neither list is sorted correctly as I find outliers.

Re: Opting OUT of a new Subgroup - can it be done?

Thanks, Marilyn. This makes sense. I was clearly overthinking the entire situation.?
Between you and Cristos, I think it¡¯ll work.?

One of my groups does this all the time. The message sent to the main group announcing the subgroup contains a link to the subgroup where all they have to do is click on Join This Group. I am not sure how the link is set up, but I think it is just to the home page of the subgroup.

I tidy up my accepted members in the Invite, Sent Invitations list. Confusingly, Cancel / Remove Invite in the Actions menu doesn't take away membership from those who have accepted the invitation. Just clears them out of the Sent Invitations list. Of course, they will be in the Members list.

Re: Invitations sent

Which column are you using to sort them? If you are using the "Invited" column, I think it sorts them by the original date that the first invitation was sent. So if you resend an invitation it may show the newer date in the column, but the sorting will be done by the date of the first invitation. So sometimes the displayed dates seem to be out of order.

Thanks to all who replied. I have sent her the link to the Help page that Chris referenced.?
I also thought that she might have cookies disabled on her browser if she keeps getting asked to log in.?

Ginger; reading this page from the Group Help Members Manual might well prove useful to you and to your troubled member. It's much easier to send this link than to try to write it all out again.?

Re: Fw: I have been asked to sign in but don¡¯t remember my password

As an owner of a community group, ?I get that question a LOT and see members trying to reapply. By adding 2 ?pre-formatted additions to our site, have saved numerous typing, cut and pasting steps and time.
?
?
Tip 1 ? ? Under Admin settings, ? message formatting , ?in footer, ?I customized it to include the following message with link. It appears at bottom of each daily summary.
?
Forget your password? . Can't access messages in morning summary? Go to /login
Use the send me email link option to regain access and/ or a new password. Sends a link to your email.
?
?
Tip 2 ? ? ?I have a pre-formatted message
Set it up under admin, ?settings, ?notices,
choose message type,?Message to member
?
By adding and storing a notice, I can use specific pre-formatted message with the same email login link.
I select the members name via Members
Select that notice message via Send Message at bottom of their page.
Pick the pre-formatted saved notice titled already a member. And send it.
?
Using those notices for those who are trying to reapply, ?who are already members.
Saves typing it out or cut and pasting numerous times.
