And the posts don't count toward your storage allowance.

But you may have some special reason! I do know of one group that deletes messages annually because they have organizational elections.

I'm with Malcolm on this one. Anyone who contacts you about this is likely forwarding group messages to others. If they persist in this despite your warnings then they'll have to deal with the consequences.?

The only ways to contact Groups.io management are to send your question to [email protected] (only for paid groups) or post on the (if you can't find the answer anyplace else.)

That's the standard message sent when someone requests to be unsubscribed.? I'm not sure if that would be logged in the members activity log, but that would be a good place to start.

Re: Unsolicited Unsubscribe notices.

Just a guess ...

If someone forwards a message they receive from your list to a.n.other than a.n.other may (if the forwarder has not removed it) find and click on the original recipient's personal unsubscribe link in the message footer.

That would create this scenario, Malcolm.

All you have to do is use the More menu and select Delete Message.? If you do it as needed, there should never be a large number to delete.

For any suggestions on changing how the site works, you'd have to post them on the since this is a user-to-user group and is not monitored by Groups.io management.

#message_deletion #message_deletion

Hi?
There needs to be a way for Owners to have a drop down menu with a way to delete messages.
It would be nice if we can do a mass delete on some posts where a member leaves or its a old post.
Its a pain when you have to delete one and then have to go back to the persons posts to delete one at a time.
We Owners need a function that can make it easier for us to keep our groups updated and running smoothly.

Thanks, Sandy

Thanks, Duane. You just saved me from spamming our choristers.
Strangely, I'm receiving groups.io emails from this and the Beta groups but I'll check with my host to see what's the problem. I'll also create a test user with a gmail account rather than my domain account.
Thanks again!

The real problem is that the emails are being 'sent', but your email service isn't accepting them.? They're timing out the connection to your actual email server, so not accepting things from Groups.io.

Re: Emails not being sent #email

I too am a group owner and having problems with emails not being sent. Two notifications and one message sent on the 20th were timed out this morning with this message in my Email Delivery History: dial tcp4 69.90.66.160:25: i/o timeout.
This is not at all the same message I could see in February when messages were blocked by spamcop.?

The last message that I sent via email was successfully delivered on April 20th at 10:14 EDT. Later on that day, I corrected a mistake in the email delivered earlier and checked for a notification to be sent to members. Then I posted a file with notification for our members. Thirdly, I issued another message via email to the group with more information. Those last three messages/notifications were timed out this morning. All three appear correctly in the Activity. The correction in the first message and the other two messages--including the #file-notice--appear correctly online. I have a "test user" email account for that group to see what non-moderators receive and have not received these last three emails/notifications.

Any suggestions/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Emails not being sent #email

Apparently in my case, it was a fluke. All the missing emails for not just me, but others as well... came pouring through this morning. So I guess one of those weird list server things, but just a coincidence it happened while I was configuring my email apps.

I goodled "rbl.websitewelcome.com" and found old forum messages

550 "JunkMail rejected - o1.30nf.fshared.sendgrid.net [167.89.55.43]:33287 is in an RBL on rbl.websitewelcome.com, see Blocked - see .

So, Hostgator in fact uses Spamcop (don't confuse with Spamhaus).
Right now one of groups.io IP-addresses is listed by Spamcop:

66.175.222.12 listed in bl.spamcop.net (127.0.0.2)

If there are no reports of ongoing objectionable email from this system
it will be delisted automatically in approximately 12 hours.

Causes of listing

System has sent mail to SpamCop spam traps in the past week
(spam traps are secret, no reports or evidence are provided by SpamCop)

In the past 81.6 days, it has been listed 11 times for a total of 9.6 days
Mark talked about Spamcop in

Members who use email addresses hosted by Hostgator can either vote with their feet
or tell Hostgator support that they need emails from groups.io.
IP-addresses groups.io sends emails from
are listed in SPF - one of TXT records for the groups.io domain. Currently:

66.175.222.12
66.175.222.108
45.79.227.220
45.79.224.9
45.79.224.7
192.53.124.123
173.255.243.56
192.53.124.254

Hostgator support can whitelist these IP-addresses to accept mail from them
regardless of Spamcop listing. If they are unwilling to whitelist
then the only recourse for Hostgator users is to vote with their feet:
use another email address, not from Hostgator.

All my mail in one group bounced today. In another where I posted it did not come back to email, just showed on the site, and then when I replied to another thread directly on the group website, the message did not appear at all. I'm not even sure this will post. Is groups.io broken?--
I am getting the emails - for example, this one from you. It came in my email.

I don't see anything about a problem in the Beta group that Mark manages either.

Perhaps others can comment about their experience today.

Re: Emails not being sent #email

Likewise, I'm not getting my messages I sent either. Also, all messages from another group bounced today, listed as junk mail. Both groups are set to individual mail and I usually have no problems. I've made no changes to my account and haven't used hashtags. Something similar happened back in March. I hope it's not going back to all my group io mail bouncing as junk.
