What happened to that? Now it¡¯s approve, rejected or edit.?

many messages don¡¯t justify ¡°reject¡± with a reason. Relies like ¡°thank you¡± don¡¯t need to be sent to group and sender (to clog of everyone¡¯s mailbox with nonsense).?

I¡¯d love to have the delete option back!!

Re: Filtering Out of Office replies?

I think the likelihood of everyone using Outlook or another email client that
has an auto responder for out of office messages setting the program to not send
an auto-response to those outside the company intranet is low.

We had a setting at PACCAR.com to only auto respond to the local intranet and
not to those outside our domain, but I could see someone not all that computer
literate setting it wrong quite easily.

My bet is on groups.io using some sort of filtering for those.

Unlikely.? On our old Listserve we just moved from, every part would get about 20 out of office replies.? But it was an ancient technology Listserve.

Rate Limit on Groups..io emails

Hi,

We have a repeated problem with emails from our group members not being delivered due to exceeding the 'rate limit ' of groups.io connections to our server (and apparently the servers of Gmail and Outlook etc)..

It is (was, our host has now increased it) very low 1.2 email per hour. When I queried this, the response was:

"Indeed 1.2 connections per hour is a low value but it's because their network is considered to be suspicious due to their IPs being blacklisted. I've increased the limit which should allow the emails to come through."

And,

"T!he issue started with groups.io IP getting blacklisted, the server then detected several connections from this IP and flagged it as suspicious and because of that suspicion the amount of connections allowed for this IP was ratelimited to prevent spam getting into our servers."

Has anyone experienced this on their servers . .? And found a solution?? Really frustrating. Do groups.io know their IP's are blacklisted?

Thanks,
Lynda

Either get your email provider to quit using spamcop or provide you with a way to whitelist groups.io.? The other option is use another email provider.

Re: Emails not being sent #email

I am the owner of a group. Two of my posts have shown up here on our groups.io webpage, but they have not been sent to my computer. I checked my profile, under my Email Delivery History and have the error message:

mx20.antispam.mailspamprotection.com: 550 Access denied - 66.175.222.12 listed by bl.spamcop.net Blocked - see

From what I see, only my emails are showing as not being sent to the group's individual emails.

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: Filtering Out of Office replies?

We've just added 900 members and I haven't seen a single Out of Office reply or vacation message, so whatever filtering is in place seems quite impressive compared to what we're used to.

Best

Just look in the </helpcenter/ownersmanual/1/reviewing-the-group-s-activity-log>activity log. It will have a line for each deletion, findable using the "Deleted Row" action, of the form "User <email address>deleted row id xx of table TableName via web."

Unless you've exported the database recently, it's gone. You should read up on database options in the </helpcenter/membersmanual/1/working-with-databases>Members Manual, including the properties you can add when creating one.
Seems to me that Mark is missing a possible revenue stream here.

Lost and/or movement of user data is a frequent topic here. While not providing restoration or restructure of user data is not normally provided, I wonder if a paid service would be viable. I am sure the site performs regular backups (including user data). (No competent site manager would not do that.)

Restoration of specific user data would require extra effort which would be compensated for via the service fee. This service have to be a post problem restoration as any a priori procedure would best be served by the free user backup functions. Group managers not backing up group data (or not even being aware of the process), would not be likely to opt in for a pre-planned paid service leading to after-the-loss only viability.

The market for moving messages, restructuring groups/sub-groups is undoubtedly smaller and more price sensitive but possibly viable if the programming effort is not too great.

So I guess it all comes down to how much is restoration of lost data worth?

I haven't tested it yet, but it sounds like someone entered your email address on the? "Send Me a Link" page.? No damage should be done, if your email hasn't been hacked, since the link will only be sent to you.

Re: responding to someone accidently/maliciously deleting entries in a 'database'

¿ªÔÆÌåÓý

Greetings,

The problem of someone erasing / deleting a group¡¯s material ¡ª and, the possibility of recovering it, or not ¡ª is enough to cause sleepless nights. Our group tends to download stuff, and keeps a separate database on another site, to create redundancy¡but then, we have been through something similar in the Yahoo days.

?databases are not a specialty topic for me, by any means, so I am just thinking aloud here, in the hopes that either a viable option will be presented or a helpful idea will emerge. As an Owner / Moderator / Group Member of a group, I wonder:

¡ª In this group¡¯s specific database loss case, do others (Owners, Moderators, Members) of this group also have not only capability to add / edit to all aspects of the database, and also the option / ability to download the database?

¡ª If others are permitted such capabilities, I wonder if someone else ¡ª specifically another signed-in user ¡ª may have recently downloaded a version of it? ? If so, unless it were very recent you might not be able to repopulate the database with the most up-to-date data, but perhaps such a version would be far better than no data at all. ?

LogIn Link delivered without a request #login

I just received a link to log into my account but I never requested it.
The email says I can ignore it - "If you did not ask for a login link to be sent to you, please ignore this email."

I see it in all my accounts - in subscription, Email Delivery History.
Anyone have a similar experience?

It doesn't seem that the request shows up in activity. Just the notice that I was sent one (shows in Subscription).

Yup, that's what's different among the groups. I was thinking the tag referred to the group, but it actually refers to MY posting privileges.?

Now to try to remember why the one group is set differently from the others.

Thanks.
