Re: Yahoo Transfers: can we exclude all members from being rolled over and let that happen manually?
Just to follow up. Our planned transfer was also to just move message history over and not our members since a majority of our users created yahoo accounts to use yahoo groups. It made it difficult to track members as it would be different from their paid membership emails. ?Some had linked to yahoo profiles while others hadn¡¯t, it was all over the place. ?I was kind of hoping for a clean slate. so when moving message history over, would all of those messages point to the group owner as the person who posted it? ?We don¡¯t have many files or attachments on this group. It¡¯s just really the message history we wanted to preserve. ?I¡¯m just wondering if we need to update our transfer to do members also. ?

Migration paid for but nothing is happening
Chris Pearce
Hi, I paid for the group's transfer and had made the groupsio transfer a moderator of our yahoo group. After 24 hours I have checked the groups messages etc but nothing is showing up. I havent allowed our Yahoo members in as yet until I can get our content loaded. I feel that my money has been taken and nothing is going to happen.
What can I do? Chris |

Re: Yahoo Transfers: can we exclude all members from being rolled over and let that happen manually?
Ken,
The options seem to be:3) Merge the account with the old address into the the account with the new address. /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Profile-and-Email-Address-and-Merging-Accounts (bottom section) I see the logic of preserving all the Yahoo member IDs to track theThe merge option does that as well. Re: Yahoo Transfers: can we exclude all members from being rolled over and let that happen manually?
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýThat all makes sense. Thanks for answering the question so quickly. I guess the problem we¡¯ll have is that since we¡¯ve manually created new user accounts using different emails from the Yahoo group, we will have duplication of members with both their Yahoo membership and their new membership. I imagine we have to let the members individually decide what to do about that. The options seem to be:1) Keep two accounts in 2) Delete one or the other account in I see the logic of preserving all the Yahoo member IDs to track the threads/rights to the files. Thanks!

Re: how to change email address to depict group...
lady.dove,
I want to change the email addy to readThe subgroups are the reason for the subdomain format. Could someone assist me please as to how to change thisYou can easily change "main" to a name of your choosing. That's right at the top of your group's Settings page. But you can't eliminate the part to the right of the @ without eliminating the subgroups. It is that part that ties the primary group and the subgroups together. /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Why-use-a-Subgroup Shal -- Help: /static/help More Help: /g/GroupManagersForum/wiki Even More Help: Search button at the top of Messages list |

They got back to me, but unfortunately it's only a form reply due to high volume. Mark is actually directing people here to GMF.
Hello, Due to the high volume of support requests right now (aka we're a bit overwhelmed!), we're unfortunately unable to provide a specific answer to your question. Our help is at /static/help and may be able to answer your questions. I also suggest subscribing to the GroupManagersForum and asking the good folks there. They have a lot of experience and should be able to answer any questions you may have. /g/groupmanagersforum Cheers, Mark |

Adam -
I may be mistaken, but I believe you can use it for a week or two as a trial before you have to register it. If you can convert it to a different format, that may be enough to do what you need without cost.
