Re: Purpose Of Beta Group

I had sent a request to Support about a couple issues with photo albums before I asked about Beta, and yesterday I received an email from Mark Fletcher. He asked me for album names and problems reported so he could look into them, so I promptly sent that information back to Mark. In that email I first sent him, I had also told him how a member had ideas of improving Photo Albums, and he asked me to forward that to him also. I guess there can be other ways of making suggestions, or I just got lucky.

Images lost in draft copy #images #drafts

Hello GMF members
?
I often save a draft message to work on later before publishing it.

I also often insert images into my posts but when a message with images is saved as a draft, and I then reopen it to edit, I get a warning like
?
?
Why is this and more importantly, is there a workaround to get drafts to save images?

Thanks in advance

Or it could be a scam, I've seen a couple targeting Groups.io albeit none of those mentioned the word "sponsorship", it was more "membership fee" and that type of stuff.

I would suggest to have her forward that message to you and then post its (personal-info-redacted) text here so we can see what it says, we'll be able to tell right away if it a scam or not.? If a scam, the site admins may also be interested in it possibly.

Cheers,

She didn't intend to make a recurring sponsorship and doesn't remember doing that.
To the best of my knowledge, there is no provision for recurring sponsorships. The only recurring billing is the group's upgrade fee. She might have made herself the payer for this at some point.
?
She might want to go to /settings/billing and check to see if she has a credit card on file. If so, she can simply remove it, and groups.io will not be able to bill her.
?
You cannot do this for her.

How can I cancel that on her behalf? I can't figure out how to do it.
You can make yourself the payer. Go to Admin => Preferences => Billing and click the "Set Me as Payer" button. See also /helpcenter/manual/ownersmanual/general/billing.htm?
?
If that isn't it, I suspect she's confused groups.io with some other system that does have recurring sponsorships.
?
Hope this helps,
Bruce

If you've set up the notice and made it active, it will always be sent from the owner address.? If you use it in a reply to a member, you have to manually choose.

Auto Notices (sender address?)

I have manually sent welcome notices (from a list of pre-written notices) when we get a new member, and choose +Owner on the message FROM pull-down.?
?
I am automating it but do not see an option how to specify that it be sent from the +Owner (rather than ¡°me¡±.) ?i.e., there is no pull-down to choose which sender when composing/updating the saved Notice.?
?
Will it ALWAYS be sent from the +Owner or am I missing something obvious to make that happen?
?
Thx!

Be sure to limit one issue, bug, suggestion, whatever, per Messsge Topic. ?Topics can sometimes go sideways and Mark may lose focus if there¡¯s 5 suggestions in one message.?
?
I find that on a #suggestion, sometimes giving Mark a concrete change (such as rewarding something that is confusing or incorrect) gets more action than simply bringing it to his attention. ?I did that on some system email/message that was (IMO) overly wordy and disorganized, and it was easy for him to just cut/paste in my replacement text, and changed it quickly (a day or two.)

Once you've posted the suggestion, it's at least on Mark's radar.? I've made some that took a few years to be adopted, others that never have been, others in a few days.? Mark usually looks at the overall picture to see if it will be beneficial to a large number of people.? Sometimes it's a small number, but on an Enterprise group that's paying a large sum.

The is the place to report bugs and suggestions for improvement to the Groups.io service. There are multiple subgroups within the Beta group for different aspects of the service and should be used to target your message more accurately. Currently, the subgroups are:
?
  • - For the discussion of potential AI/LLM based features for Groups.io
  • - For the discussion of the Groups.io API.
  • - For discussion of the Groups.io iOS/Android app
  • - For improving the documentation of Groups.io
  • - This group is dedicated to localizing the Groups.io service into different languages.
General queries should still be raised here on GMF or Group_Help and as it's generally the same people providing support on both of those groups, I'd recommend messages are posted on one or the other but not both.

Hi Don,
Why don¡®t you have a look at the group¡®s main page yourself? You can open it without registering - just open the web site?
groups.io/g/beta ?
(I¡®ve left out the https stuff so you have to complete the link yourself).?

The groups.io site uses standard TLS certification to encrypt data while in transit to/from the site to your browser. This should alleviate most concerns folks might have with accessing the system on public wifi.
?
That's the only "encryption" I'm aware of. If you're looking for something specific, please explain.

Hi
As a starting point, there is a Privacy Policy for and in that there is a section on security and confidentiality of your personal information.
?
You might also check the other categories in this page such as the data processing agreement.
