Re: Owner dead, only moderators left
#groupowner
Backup your membership list, files, and databases to your computer, for a start. Your photos as well, if you have room. To move to groups. io you need to make it a moderator, and I think that takes an owner. I believe you can upload from your computer, however. Re: Attachments
Sharon,
How do you?set your Groups.io group to no attachments?? I don't see that option under settings, and it looks like the default (only?) option is to allow attachments., I'm just beginning the transition of a 750-member group from Yahoo Groups to Groups.io and am trying to understand attachment options.? Our group has many yachts at? sea or in locations where bandwidth is severely limited, so a no-attachment policy (as we have on YG) is what we need. Any suggestions welcome! Thanks, Milt |

To save a bit of time you can go to the "Members" pull down menu at the top of the Members list page and select "Bouncing". This will display all of the Bouncing or Bounced members in your group so you don't have to scroll through the entire list.

Oh, re-reading, are you saying YOU are at the other end of the invite, and it is NOT getting through? I see. Not sure what's going on, in that case.? On Thu, Feb 8, 2018 at 8:29 AM, J_Catlady <j.olivia.catlady@...> wrote:

If you use the link to your group on the overview page, /, it will always take you to the Topics view since it's a hard-coded link.? If you go to the group home page instead, then click on Messages on the left menu, it will remember which one you had selected.? In this case, having a bookmark to the home page (or the view page while Messages is selected) would get around the problem.? Unfortunately, once you've been to the Topics view, it remembers that as your last choice, so will return to it. |

That's a known bug. Stop sending the invite. It IS getting through. It's the error message that's false. ;p On Thu, Feb 8, 2018 at 8:20 AM, Group Moderator via Groups.Io <groupmoderator3@...> wrote: I tried sending an invite from my YG group to a new email address (one of my extras) and despite hitting "invite" several times, the invite did not come through. Weekly I go to members and scroll through the members list. When I come across a B (bouncer) I click on that person, page down to the bottom and click to send a bouncing probe.?
When I first started there were many blue Bs, today 1 blue and 1 red. I copied the email addy and am sending her an email, since it¡¯s a name I recognize I¡¯ll also ask group members if she¡¯s changed her email. (She was on full digest). Nancy |
There's not currently a list of hashtags on the Event entry page.? You can add a hashtag in the Event Name, but would need to know which ones are available, unless you have your group set to allow everyone to create them (Only Moderators Can Create Hashtags is NOT selected on the settings page.)? A quick search of the TODO list, , doesn't show anything similar.? You could suggest having the dropdown available as an addition on beta@.

I tried sending an invite from my YG group to a new email address (one of my extras) and despite hitting "invite" several times, the invite did not come through. It doesn't show in the pending member list. Nor does the activity log show that any invites were sent out. On the other hand, despite a very active group, no commands showing since Jan 29, so clearly that's not reliable either...

ALL new users are moderated in your group, including you. Go into your settings and check the number (1, 2, 3, or 4) in the "new users moderated" setting. That is the number of posts from each member that need to be approved before they are unmoderated.?

Re: All Posts Need Approval

You could try looking in the Activity log for entries of 'Edited group'.? It won't tell you what was changed, but will give you a date and time that might jog your memory.

Re: All Posts Need Approval

Hello Norman, ? The first thing I would check is to go to Admin, members, then click on the member row for yourself.? Check to see if somehow close to the bottom of the page you are set as OVERRIDE:? Moderated.? If so, then you have to check for not moderated and save. ? I do not know how that would happen if you are the group owner. ? IF that is not the case, maybe someone else here can make a suggestion as to what to check. ? When you initially go to the members listing, if you click on E-mail, it will list all alphabetically which will make it easier to find yourself. ? The only two checked are RESTRICTED MEMBERSHIP and NEW USERS MODERATED.?
?
These members have already joined. And none qualify as "NEW USERS"....?
?
My own posts to the group are being moderated....

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýNorm, in the members¡¯ list, is there a little blue n beside the names? I believe that mean that these members have not sent an email yet - in .If your name has an n too - send a greeting to the group yourself. ![]() Sometimes these things happen. Sometimes, if you change it to a different setting, save it, then change it back again and save it, it'll stick. I don't know if this has ever happened in , but you could try it.
Maybe someone else knows of a different setting that needs to be working together with these settings?? On Thu, Feb 8, 2018 at 5:45 PM, Norman C. Berns <ncberns@...> wrote:
