Good to hear. Can you be more specific when you said you kicked this off "last week"? What day, specifically? Your group sounds like mine, albeit mine has about 5 times as many folks in it.

Re: Threading/Conversations
If you're replying from the email you've received, how much quoted text you have may depend somewhat on the email handler you use. On mine (I use OEClassic) it's set up to include the entire message as quoted text. I simply click on Reply and the original message appears with room at the top for adding a reply. After all, the message came from the group and you're replying to that address. You don't need to select anyone else because the groups.io system handles all that. After I've input my reply I scroll down and remove as much of the quoted material as I think is appropriate before sending.

For a person who's getting a message with no quoted text, click on "View/Reply Online" link in the message footer, which will open up the entire thread on the web page. I hope this helps. Dano ----- Original Message -----
We currently have a Yahoo group with about 300 users. I setup a Groups.io group and added 10 users as a test. When using Reply to Group to reply to an email the content from other replies is removed. For those users with Threading or Conversations enabled this is OK. However for users without Threading or Conversations enabled they only see that reply which can be very confusing. What is the recommended procedure? |
Migration complete! Have hope!
Some good news for all of you anxious about your migration from Yahoo. I'm happy to report that last week I created my first forum here, upgraded to Premium for $110, and then initiated the steps for Groups.io to do the migration:/static/transferԻ/g/GroupManagersForum/wiki/Transfer-from-Yahoo-Groups. Be sure to carefully read and follow the steps on the above pages. Today our new group.io is fully migrated and active, including:
Given the workload that Yahoo's closure is causing, and differences in forums, your results may be different. Tom |

And there is a workaround. I tried uploading via my iPad and it worked properly. Many thanks! Jerry At 11:41 AM 10/20/2019, you wrote: On Sun, Oct 20, 2019 at 11:38 AM, Jerry Berg wrote: |

Yes, I gave it the green button. That was on Friday. There is 10 years of content and 4700+ members so I might be waiting a bit longer than that. :) On Sun, Oct 20, 2019 at 11:32 Bruce Bowman <bruce.bowman@...> wrote: On Sun, Oct 20, 2019 at 11:18 AM, rich hurd wrote: --

IE11, plain

Re: Format for file names
Good info, thanks. I did not realize that you could edit a file name this way. It does work on my setup. But it would be burdensome if you had to change each file name after you uploaded the file, especially if you were uploading a bunch of files at one time. I would think there is something in the group settings that might affect the way this is handled (I am the group owner), but if it's there I can't find it.
