Hi...

I bought the service for $110 a year.? It says I have a 10 GB limit.?

Do emails count against this 10 GB limit?? Or is it just files and photos?

Yeah, pretty much.

You can try to notify them by collecting all the "no email" people and contacting them directly (i.e.: outside of Y!G). In practice, I think you'll find that most of those accounts are deadwood and emails will begin to bounce as soon as you start sending them anything.

Is there no option for a yearly commitment at monthly payments? That is a /lot/ of money and a lot of us trying to keep our groups alive can't come up with it in a lump sum.?

If you go to Admin>Upgrade and click the "View/Change Plan" button, there are options for Premium Yearly or Premium Monthly.

You might find a month of Premium handy if you want to Direct Add subscribers to your group without going through the invitation process. It is also a lot cheaper ($10 vs $110).

However, if you want groups.io to attempt to move your message archive, files and photos and so on (in addition to your subscribers), you have to pay the $110. This payment also allows you to re-try the transfer later if some content doesn't make it over, due to ongoing Yahoo server issues.

The money has to be paid up-front and there are no refunds.

No. Nor can you be logged in under more than one email address using the same device/browser.

However, you can subscribe both addresses to the same group and set one of them to No Email. That might be your best option.

Larry -- You can upload a folder-full of photos at a time as follows:

1. Browse to /g/groupname/photos
2. Click the "New Album" button
3. Provide a title and description and click the Create button
4. Click the "Add Photos" button
5. In the resulting dialog box, click "Browse..."
6. Using Ctrl-Click, Shift-Click or Ctrl-A for the entire folder, select all the images you want to appear in this folder.
7. The dialog box will be populated with thumbnail images.
8. Click the Add button.
9. Repeat for each photo album you need to transfer.

You can upload an entire directory structure of files to groups.io (including the recursive uploading of subfolders) using the "Upload Directory" function. It is, however, not very intuitive. See?/g/GroupManagersForum/topic/34328513#18960?for details.

To clarify, I have only small groups with picture and file storage well under the 1 GB free limit. With only about 100 members in each group, I will just send invitations to join the new groups.io group using the membership list I exported from the Yahoo Group.

Make sure what you upload is a flat text file, with one email address per line. No intervening commas, no CSV or Excel files.

Alternatively, you can just cut-and-paste them into the invitation box.

Send the invitations?all at once.

You will get a message back saying you've reached the limit of invitations per day. Do not get upset about this. Just wait awhile, and all the invitations you sent will go out.

These are important issues for owners with only small groups. Please try to answer fully as I expect there is wide interest.

Fair enough. In turn, please understand that the heavy influx of new groups is rapidly becoming stressful for everyone. We are not responsible for what Yahoo Groups has done, and are doing our best to accommodate.

If you have checked only the "Restricted Membership" checkbox under Spam Control, and you later send someone an invitation, that person can accept the invite and begin posting immediately.?

HOWEVER...they *must* click on the link in the emailed invitation for that to work. If instead of accepting the invitation they click the "Join This Group" button or send a +subscribe message, their subscription will land in Pending, and you'll have to approve them manually.

If you invite them, then no further approval is needed. Except if your group is unmoderated, you have to select something in Spam Control.
