Hi Paula, Unfortunately the answer to your question on your grop;s approval is, 'it depends.' Amongst other things it depends upon how many groups are stacked up ahead of yours waiting, like your group , to be approved. So it could happen tomorrow or perhaps next week. But it it doesn't happen in longer than ten days or so you might inquire again. OK ¡ª HTH Paul M. == |

Oh that may be the explanation. Maybe I won't see the admin tab until it is approved.? However, it has been 7 days!? How long does it usually take?

If I can only delete the group if I am signed in as owner,? then this is a problem.? Who the heck is the owner if I am not?? I have 4 members (my adult children) but they were invited to join by me (and they are not even in my house let alone using my computer).??
?
Does anyone have any recommendations?? It seems to me if I can not delete the group, then I have to just unsubscribe myself and ask all my kids to as well.??

Re: How to disable user?

I have the same situation on one of my groups.? I remove the member 30 days after their dues expire (also warning them at expiration that it's coming).? If they later pay their dues, I send them an invitation, they accept, and it's as though they never left (provided they use the same email address).? Depending on how strict your group is, you may want to send them the warning 30 days early.
A 'Suspended' membership setting would be nice, but I doubt that it would be a high usage item, so would be a very low priority for a feature addition (unless it were a super simple change). go to: Admin: Members click on the row of their name (do not check the box) reset their Email Delivery to: "No Email" or "Special Notices Only" reset their Posting Privileges to: "Override: not allowed to post" and click on "Save" OR go to: Admin: Members check the box on the row of their name and use the "Actions" pull down menu to select "No Email" or "Special Notices Only" click "Yes" in the "Verify Action" window that opens up and use the "Actions" pull down menu to select "Override: not allowed to post" click "Yes" in the "Verify Action" window that opens up The lapsed Member would still, if they have 'Web Access' be able read email and do anything else they previously could do. BUT I think what you want is a new feature of being able to go to: Admin: Members click on the row of their name (do not check the box) and change their "Role" to "Suspended" which would suspended all of their Privileges... I presume because you want them to renew or re-activate their membership in your group offline (in life vs. Groups.io) so they would retain their 'ownership' and 'history' of messages, pictures, etc and not have to rejoin as a new member off your Groups.io group. If so, would you want them to receive "Special Notices Only" that go to all subscribers or not? I administer group for organization. It is for member only. It often happens that someone looses member status and we want to stop that persons group membership. But, we do not want to remove user form the group or ban him. |
How to disable user?

I administer group for organization. It is for member only. It often happens that someone looses member status and we want to stop that persons group membership. But, we do not want to remove user form the group or ban him.
We just want some kind of temporary disabling his group membership as usually organization membership is regained and user has to be activated in the group again. Is something like this possible or I have to file feature request? |

Sue that does not make sense. ?The digest consists of all the messages in a given period. ?Presumably they just want to reply to one of those people not all at the same time?
