Hi Jane,
please check messages #48845 and #48849 by Dan Lepinski in this topic, where he describes what caused the problem in his case. It was basically caused by some change made by his internet provider, without telling their customers. Nothing he caused by wrong login.
Maybe your problem is similar.?
