Seems like it would not be a difficult thing to implement just toss the 'who' part of the responds to a trash bin folder.
At a minimum, voter information would still have to be retained internally, so as to keep people from voting more than once.?

Anonymity aside, there are plenty of other reasons to be disenchanted with the groups.io polling system. To me, the main one is that people must log in to vote. Many subscribers struggle with this, or at least don't try very hard to figure it out. Instead, they often reply via email...which eliminates any chance of keeping their votes secret anyway.

Even when explicit instructions are provided and you put a hashtag on the poll topic so people can't reply, forcing subscribers to jump through any kind of technical hoop is bound to skew the results.
