Well, I think it's probably about time for me to seriously consider transferring my large Yahoo Groups over to Groups.IO. My one group has not had any Photos functionality now for about 6 weeks.? Fearful I will continue to lose features and functionality so that the Easy Groups Transfer process will not work.
I have a few questions, and please forgive me if any are redundant - feel free to refer me to an appropriate message number if needed.? So, I have 4 groups on Yahoo Groups.? All have been in existence for several years, one or two as long as 2004.? They all have between 3,000 and 6,000 list members, but of course, only a fraction of those members are now active (dwindling due to all the issues).? We are image-heavy due to the groups all being focused on sewing, machine embroidery and quilting.? So, my thoughts were to create a couple of archive groups that would only house older photos - no posting - in order to keep our active list under 1 GB (my list members would most likely not be inclined to pay to join, in order to cover the cost of the Premium level group.? So, the question would be:? How would I transfer over some of the photos to one or two photo archive groups during the transfer process?? Am I able to select certain things to transfer over during the Easy Group Transfer process?? I believe I did see that the moderator/list owner can indicate a size limit with photos, when list members upload, so as not to have huge photos uploaded.? And that Groups.IO will automatically re-size photos to that size (scaling of course, so w x h remains in proportion)?? And, when I do make the Easy Transfer, do I have to send out the email invites right away?? I would like to see how the list looks prior to doing that, so when list members start signing up, the new list on Groups.IO is organized and tidy.? Last question:? I do not see that Groups.IO has a Links section, like Yahoo Groups does?? Am I missing this, or is this possibly in the works, or simply "not gonna happen"?? We do use the Links section pretty frequently, so it would be awfully nice to have that additional feature available.? Not a deal-breaker, though.?
