Hi Shal,

This is what our Director received:

Hello,

Here is a link to log into your Groups.io account:

It will expire in 60 minutes, on 01/22/2018 at 11:29pm GMT,
but you'll stay logged in for 30 days, unless and until you log out.

If you did not ask for a login link to be sent to you, please ignore this email.

Cheers,
The Groups.io Team

They would have had no idea the group was up and running as I'd never told them, so this message must (I assume) have gone out to ALL the new members set up as part of the migration.? There was nothing "user-initiated" about it as they would have no way of knowing that IO was there waiting.

So, I think you are saying that everyone will now need to log on to /login, then type their old YG e-mail address then either?
"Forget your password" or "Email me a link to log in" to access member-only areas like Wiki.

Thanks.

That message should not have resulted from the transfer, per se.

That sounds like the "Forget your password" or "Email me a link to log in" message. Which is always user-initiated, so the user should be prepared and ready to receive the message.

For receiving and posting group messages by email, nothing. They are good to go once copied in by the transfer agent.

To access members-only areas of the group web site they need to log in. To do that the first time they can use the Log In page and select either
"Forget your password" or "Email me a link to log in". They will need to enter their email address (the one copied over from the Y!Group), receive the message, and use the link in it within the allotted time.

Shal
