The above presupposes that a warning was sent to the Yahoo group advising its members that a migration is being arranged, and that they should? expect (at some undefined point in time) an email from Groups.io informing them that their new group is ready for them to confirm their membership.

If no such advance warning is given then the likelihood of something going wrong because of a simple misunderstanding is almost certain to be greater.

I fully expect a blizzard of "removed because of spam"" queries to start before long...
