The default should be to not "Send Notice To Group" so that a work-around and hashtags (see quoted, below) are not required to avoid unwanted (and easy to overlook) unexpected secondary action(s) to occur.

Creating a Calendar event is one thing.
Adding Notices and Reminders should be optional additions to be selected deliberately - not to have to be prevented unless wanted.
