Because bulk file and photo deletion is a FAQ, I've converted my recent post on deleting files, photos and attachments to a new GMF wiki page.

I didn't cover the details of running out of space or what the symptoms of that are, but as this is the main remedy for that problem (short of upgrading) you might want to link to it somewhere in your new page.
