Power cable

Hello all,
?I have a Gemini 1 controlled Losmandy G11. For reasons unknown, my power cable has gone AWOL. Losmandy has none in stock so I¡¯m going to have to beg, borrow, steal or fabricate my own.?

If anyone has an old or spare cable they are willing to part with, I shall be happy to pay costs.?

I am reasonably certain that I could fabricate the cable myself. Misfortunately, I don¡¯t have a wiring diagram or the part number for the Gemini end plug. It appears to be a 6 pin DIN. If this brain trust could supply me with said wiring diagram and part number for the plug, I would be most appreciative.?

Many thanks,
paul

Hi Paul,

Should you decide to build your own:

Here's a USA source for the 4-pin DIN power connector for Gemini-1:

And in Australia:

Hello Paul,

My old gemini 1 power supply recently failed and Losmandy had none in stock. I solved the problem by using a PC power supply but I had the same problem as you to connect it to the Gemini 1. I solved the problem by using and brazing ?the cable and socket of my old power supply. On my Gemini 1 the socket was a 4 (not 6) pin DIN. The polarity was : il you look at ?the DIN socket on G1 the two left socket positions are positive and the two right are negative.
Hoping it can help you.
Best regards.
Arnaud

I have 2 Gemini power cables. One I have used for years, the other didn't seem to work. I ran across it recently and decided to rehab it. Referring to Paul K's diagram, the known good cable has the ground on the two left pins... the spare has the ground on the right two pins as shown in the diagram. I have to go with the known good cable config and resolder the wires on the spare cable's 12V power supply connector so that the pinouts? match the config of the known good cable. I have to challenge that pinout diagram unless someone can explain this contradiction to me. Thanks.??

Ted

the above image is showing the power pins as looking at the power socket, not the plug!

Looking at the plug (front), the pins are mirrored! ? Take that into consideration.?

Cheers

Actually I just twigged you said Gemini 2! ? Are you sure? ? ?This image included in this thread is for a Gemini 1, 4 pin DIN power socket. ?

Yet you said you have two power two rerun GND.?

So I¡¯m a little confused is it a Gemini 1 or Gemini 2? ? If a G2 they use commonDC barrel plugs 2.1mm centre positive?

I think Ted meant he has 2 power cables for Gemini-1 :)

Brendan, Paul K is correct. Two power cables for the Gemini 1. Sorry for the ambiguity. I understand that the diagram shows the inputs on the Gemini 1 CPU and not the power cable end and the cable end is the mirror of the diagram. As if I needed another challenge, the wire colors on the spare cable are reversed - red is ground, black is voltage.?

Thank you both for clarifying.

Yep understood cheers Ted. ?Soldering these pins are a pain. ?I drill the rear cups out to maximum I can ?so the wires fit better.?

Still it¡¯s a battle?

Cheers gents?
