Well, that's fortunate, Ken. ASiair appears to be recognizing the Prolific converter, which means it has a driver that is compatible. Actually, I'd be surprised if it hasn't as ATEN and Prolific are by far the most common RS232<->USB converters available.

I'm glad that your cable/ASiair/Gem1 seem to be all talking nicely to each other. As you say, a starry night to test more thoroughly is what you need now.

You're probably a bit away from it, but you need to set up the Gem's slew limits w.r.t. ASiair's pause/slew stop times at the meridian - see my earlier posting on this. I seem to have got my settings right. If you strike problems with this, please let me know and I'll try to advise you.
