? I've been trying to get my Gemini 2 to talk to the planetarium in N.I.N.A. I thought I read here that the J2000 box has to be unchecked(so it'll run the N.I.N.A. selected planetarium), is this correct? I keep getting errors for RA, and or DEC. Any ideas of what I'm doing wrong here. I'm running Windows 11.
? ? ?Thanks for your help, Les
P.S. I've only had my Gemini 2 for a few days?now. So, I'm still a newbie with Gemini 2. I've owned other GOTO systems in the past, just not this one.... so be gentle?with me ?;^)

HI Les
are you new to NINA as well?
Nina does not have a built-in planetarium, you configure and connect using your choice of planetarium: Stellarium, Cartes Du Ciel, TheSkyX, etc.
You will need to make sure to configure the planetarium app to talk to NINA

Hey Brian, yeah, I'm new to N.I.N.A. as well, but I do have it selected as you've shown. Do I need to uncheck the J2000 box in the HC..? I didn't, because I wasn't sure if this was correct?or not.?

do not change \any defaults regarding the epoch - 99.9% of the time the defaults work fine
Many people have gotten into trouble fiddling with these settings

This is why I didn't touch them. I'm too new to this system to feel confident enough, to be changing anything at this point. However, we have a good weather forecast for tonight. This will give me a chance to try again. I just don't know what to do or where to start. I've set everything?up correctly, I think...? The mount hooks up to N.I.N.A. just fine. Trying to get the telescope to slew to my target through the planetarium is frustrating(error messages).

Yeah, I just thought about what I said.... yes I can try it before tonight. It's just it's incredibly warm in the observatory at this time of the day. I'm gonna wait til it cools off a bit before I venture inside. I have an exhaust fan in it.... but it's 30¡ãC plus right?now. I'll check everything then and?let you know what's going on. I'll take a couple shots of errors.... maybe then you can give me a better idea of what's going on..?

Hey Brian, I've made 3 successful goto's after sweating it out in the observatory, trouble shooting for 2 hours.... finally! The thing is, I'm not sure what I actually did to get it to work. Now, I'm afraid to turn off or disconnect anything...lol. Hopefully, I'll have a flawless imaging session tonight. But I'm sure my focuser or something else will screw with me... fingers?crossed.?
? ? Thanks, Les
