Re: Mount modeling
As Derek pointed out, Sync simply rotates the model to match the current coordinates, it doesn't build or alter the model. To build a model, you need to do an Align on a bright star or other object or

Re: Mount modeling
To create a pointing model by plate solving, you need to have the "Sync performs additional align" option turned on in the mount. See: https://gemini-2.com/faqGII.html#Q28 Graeme [email protected]>

Mount modeling
Another question came up about mount modeling which reminded me of my last clear night (some months ago). I use Ekos/Kstars to control the session and it has a mount modeling tool (image of this tool

Re: Modelling limits
You mean creating a Horizon profile?? That would be awesome, but as far as I know, that can't yet be done.. I am blocked nearly to 40 degrees from the East to the Northwest.. Derek

Re: Modelling limits
Hi Ken are you plate solving/syncing or are you manually building a model with alignments for use with visual, dslr, etc.? There isn't any specific limits for modeling that you can set, although you

Modelling limits
Hi All, I am looking for a guide for setting some modelling limits for sites with limited N,S,E,W visibility. I have one site that my Theodolite app says has visibility above 22 degrees for N,S and E

Re: RA lag both motors stopped
Are these original style motors? It could be that the motors are dying of old age (brushes or maybe the internal capacitors failing)? Sent: 11 March 2023 12:15 To: [email protected] Subject: Re:

Re: RA lag both motors stopped
My strong suspicion is that the worm mesh is too tight on the DEC axis. As an initial test, remove both motors from the mount and run your test again. Let us know what happens. D. Sent: 24 February

Re: Autoguiding and Camera setup for my G11 / C11 scope
Just to add to the confusion my preference is for APT ¨C it¡¯s a bit like BackYardEOS but handles Canon and Nikon DSLRs, and a number of CCD/CMOS Astro cameras; focusers; filter wheels; etc. etc.

Re: Autoguiding and Camera setup for my G11 / C11 scope
You could use NINA, NINA will talk directly to PHD2, SharpCap, Stellarium and other apps including weather apps to monitor wind and clouds. NINA is free and pretty simple but I won¡¯t fool you either

Re: Autoguiding and Camera setup for my G11 / C11 scope
Here is an update on where I'm at. My setup is a C11 HD Edge with a Losmandy G11 mount with Gemini 2. Love this thing. It is housed in a shed with a roll off roof so I can leave it setup. I have ASCOM

Re: GL.iNet travel routers for use with ASIAir Pro (or Plus)
Hi Dale, Chip and anyone else following along -- experimental physics is fun! Now that I've got the router, I can play with it and see how it actually does under different placements and antenna

Re: GL.iNet travel routers for use with ASIAir Pro (or Plus)
Yeah. "Near" in terms of metal objects near an antenna is generally regarded as 1 wavelength of distance. For 2.4GHz wireless, that would be around 124mm. 59mm for 5GHz wifi.
