It should work to do wifi into the rs232 ports of the Gemini 2.?
That gets you normal Gemini-2 command control.?
However if you want to use the Web interface built into the Gemini
2, you still have to plug a hardware Ethernet cable into the
Ethernet port of the Gemini 2.?
You can do this by using a WiFi bridge into that port. The WiFi
bridge converts WiFi into hardwired Ethernet.? If you use the ASCOM
Gemini.net driver on your computer, then it has the capability of
connecting ASCOM based and non-Ascom based programs through the
Ethernet port.? The none ASCOM programs would use VSPE or similar
between them and the Gemini.net driver. ?
What are your really trying to accomplish?
How far away do you want your computer from the Gemini 2
What software do you want to use.
What kind of computer are you using?

That should work based on the description. This will do
both: translation from tcp/ip to serial, and provide wi-fi
access.

What about with this

I don't think that
would work. This converts serial to
Ethernet. You'll need another conversion
at the Gemini end to convert back to
serial, otherwise G2 wouldn't understand
the Ethernet traffic.
driver uses the G2 http protocol directly,
so there is no need to add another virtual
serial emulator.

I¡¯m probably
way over my head here, but can¡¯t
TheSky connect to an IP address by
using software that converts the
IP address into a serial port?
That¡¯s my understanding of the
free software here:

Or is this what
the
driver is also capable of?
?
I am imagining
a network cable being plugged into
Gemini II and the other end into a
wireless access point, with a
wireless network adapter in a PC
becoming a client of the WAP. The
above software converter would
then turn the IP address of the
wireless network adapter in the PC
into a serial port suitable for
connection to TheSky. A fantasy in
vain?

Wired
Ethernet and wireless wi-fi
can all be used with G2
(with optional wireless
adapters).?
TheSky
will work over serial or
USB, and will also work over
Ethernet/wi-fi if you use
the TeleAPI plugin to
connect using
ASCOM driver.

Aside from the
interesting look web
interface, I'm curious
how Gemini II is
conceived to be
controlled by a
planetarium program like
theSky? Is the idea we
connect via USB? I
really like the idea of
ethernet and a web
server, but I'm not sure
how useful that is going
to be, particularly if
it has to be a wired
connection with a
router. Well, maybe
that's great for
installations, but for
portable mounts the
application/value is
less clear to me.
