Gemini ?should interface smoothly to any Ethernet router, but of course if you've had problems with other devices, I can understand your reluctance.
Gemini 2 should be perfectly usable without using the web interface using just the hand controller and optionally being controlled by a planetarium program over the USB/serial ports. ?If you choose not to connect via Ethernet, you will need to remove the SD card from the main unit and hand controller whenever you want to update your firmware, however.
