The reason I ask is in my experience updating drivers/firmware usually causes more problems than it helps. I'm happy to do it if it will fix my issue.?
Can't guarantee that it'll fix things, but it's unlikely to break things. At the very least, I would suggest that you re-update your current version of firmware, if you are reluctant to update to the latest.
